Alison Kershaw

I trained at Falmouth School of Art, where I specialised in film, installation and performance.  My interest was in time and memory, environment and representation.  I have been running St Luke's Art Project since 1993.  Initially, the project was an artist-in-residence scheme and has grown into a multi-faceted open studio, employing a number of artists and offering facilities and support for local people to get involved.

For me, St. Luke's Art Project is the major work of art of my practice.  It is work that can't be pinned down, always changing and growing along with the people involved.

I've been working on a number of other projects in the local area, including acting as a contemporary art curator for Victoria Baths Trust, commissioning new work from local, national and international artists.  I'm also working with Pool Arts, an exciting artists collective that runs a gallery in a garden SHED amongst other things....
